Home Sweet Home

We are home! After a morning of signing papers (felt like signing mortgage documents) we were discharged. As we were leaving, we had a photographer drop and took some pictures that are viewable via their website. She took the photos for free but obviously they would like people to purchase prints, but please dont as we will have some available in the near future. But if you would like to see more photos of our baby, please visit:

Jade or Shea??

Good morning. Just another little peak at our baby. So, the main question of the day is the name. If we had to chose today, it would be between Jade or Shea. We are still open to any suggestions and if you would help us, let us know what name you like. Love you all...

A New Day... Today we welcomed our first precious baby girl at 5:13 AM, weighing 7 lbs 14 oz at 21.5 inches long. Our fashion model has arrived!! It was early morning on Jan 25 at 3:33 AM when Jamie was wakening by a wrenching contraction. This was the beginning as the contractions continued. We were able to sleep briefly when another huge contraction hit Jamie at 4:44 AM. The 3:33, 4:44 was a sign that today was the day the baby will be arriving! The day continued with steady contractions about 20 minutes apart. In the afternoon, the contractions shorted to about 5-10 minutes apart. We were instructed to come into the hospital and make sure everything was progressing like it should. We arrived at IHC around 6:30 PM and checked into the labor and delivery. The first review was that we were still a 1+ dialation with a shining light that Jamie was thinned out about 90%. The decision was to go home with a shot of morphine or wait 2 more hours...obviously we did not want to leave. We paced the hospital grounds for a couple of hours which did the trick. We had dialated from 1+ to 3+ within this time frame which we were officially admitted and in active labor by 9 PM. Risa arrived shortly after to help support Jamie in the process. By 10 PM we had the epidural administered and Jamie was feeling much more comfortable. By 12 AM we were settled and it became a waiting game. 3 AM came and Jamie was fully dialated and ready for the pushing! 2 hours pushing, spreading, huffing and puffing...we saw the first signs of the baby's head dropping. Shortly before 5 AM the doctor arrived and the baby was ready to pass through the canal. A few more pushes and the baby's head passed through the canal. At 5:13 AM, our precious girl was born. There is nothing like having a child! Nothing like knowing a baby has taken her first breath, her first cry, and her first contact with mom! It was absolutely beautiful. We thank everyone who has been a part of our lives and look forward to sharing our joy! Thank you.
